To me, optimism means the ability to roll with the punches while keeping a smile on your face. I believe optimism shows up best when rooted in preparation and alignment on what is true, while having the discipline to block out any excess noise.
What do you love about what you do?
The relationships. Money is an intimate topic for most, lowering the barrier to many other inspiring and rich conversations. It’s these meaningful conversations that translate to lifelong partnerships and friendships. Does it get any better than that?
Who is someone you admire, and why?
My mom. One of the strongest, funniest, and down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. Life has thrown her some serious curveballs and she’s still batting 1,000. A hall-of-famer in my book.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I’m really an introvert disguised as an extrovert. I’ve learned to prioritize time to recharge so I can be my best around others. This currently looks like reading a good book (Chronicles of Narnia) or going to the gym.
At the end of your career, how do you want to be valued?
I want to be valued as someone who is authentic and competent.
When you’re not working, I’ll find you…
Playing hoops or beach volleyball in the Seattle sunshine (so not very often…), spending time with my family in Bremerton, or competing with friends in any yard game imaginable.
